Detox in a weekend
-
Having completed the detox programme, you should be feeling a good deal healthier and more energetic than you did before.
-
The idea from now on is to avoid a build-up of toxins in your body by sticking to healthy eating patterns.
-
You should also keep up your exercise and relaxation routines, and continue to look after your body.
-
Avoid a constant diet of junk food, alcohol and caffeine, and manage stress effectively.
-
Be prepared at weekends for detox by planning everything in advance.
Friday evening
Ease yourself into the detox by getting everything ready in advance. Change into comfortable clothes and have a light supper of grilled fish and salad. Turn your bathroom into a home spa, put the answering machine on and get ready to revitalize yourself.
Winding down
At about 8.30 p.m., fill the bath with very hot water and add a few drops of essential oil. Leave for 10 minutes to heat up the tub and let the oils disperse. Make yourself a cup of herbal tea to sip while bathing, light the candles and put on some relaxing music. Immerse yourself in the bath, lie back and relax. Afterwards, get out slowly and pat yourself dry. You should be feeling sleepy, so put on your nightclothes and head for bed.![]()
